My Professional Experience...
College has thought me many valuable lessons which I will cherish forever. I found my true Career Passion. As a child I always remembered how much I liked to help people, no matter what it was. But I really liked taking care of children, they were my passion then. I saw how a lot of my siblings are in the Medical field. I got intrigued and noticed that I could mix medicine with children. As I grew older the passion developed and I also began to like the tourism and hospitality industry. I began to research and found St. Thomas University and saw they had and elite nursing program being offered, named 2+2 program. This consisted of, doing two years in St. Thomas University and the other two remaining years in the University of Miami. I applied and got accepted in the year 2009 as a Nursing Major. I also got hired as a Lab Assistant in the Carnival Cruise Line Building in St. Thomas University. Being a Lab Assistant further enhanced my preparation for my future studies. As, I shadowed the Lab Director I learned how to use the incubators, dissection tools, the preparation of solutions, how to prepare a lab for upcoming classes, what to do when we receive a new chemical, and much more. This thought me how to be responsible, how to multi-task, how to network with other colleagues and many other valuable lessons. As of today, this Fall 2012 semester, I am the President of the Tourism and Hospitality Association Club in St. Thomas University. I found my true passion which was Hospitality and I am graduating class of May 2013. My background and skills in lab techniques and hospitality skills will prove to be that I am and will be, an excellent and responsible employee. | ![]() |
